Kid's Room Space

It is a generally known fact that art contributes to the development of children’s brains. The interplay of colours, patterns, textures and shapes stimulates the child’s mind and encourages the child to explore more. So why not make your child’s room a place to relax and nurture with all original wall art?

Original Art for Kids Room

Creating the perfect room for a child can be a really fun task if you approach it with the right attitude. You as an adult get to pick the sort of fun artwork that you might not be able to hang up in your bedroom or office. When picking art for a kid space, you should prioritise for fun colours, concepts, subjects, and medium of art.

Go with Bright Colours

Decorating for adults usually starts with picking colours that aren’t too crazy. The colour white is the most common choice for walls, and when brighter colours do get chosen, they’re still relatively muted. When designing for kids, you get to let loose and pick bold primary colours. Kids are filled with energy; they deserve to have a room that reflects this fact.

Keep Things Fun

In most rooms of your home, the best artistic choices will tend to be conservative. But when it comes to decorating a kids room, you can let your hair down and get creative. Kids shouldn’t grow up in rooms that look like cubicles. So pick fun subject matter like Sports Figures and Fantasy.

Get the Kids Involved

While you certainly can decorate a child’s room without ever talking to them, it’s better to bring them in the process. The older they are, the more input they can have. Ask what sort of colours they like and what sort of subject matter they are interested in. Even if they are too young to talk, you can still show them different colours and images and see which they react to more positively. Every child is an individual, and their unique spirit should be encouraged.

Think Durability

The thing you always need to remember when planning a child’s room is how messy they can be. They simply don’t think about things like art the same way that adults do. So when purchasing art, you should think about all of the ways that the children you’re decorating for might end up damaging the art you’re purchasing for them. This is why you probably shouldn’t purchase expensive and fragile sculptures for a child’s room. On the other hand, solid and durable wood sculpture might be a great idea if you want art that will survive even the wildest kids.

Creating Memories

Children make their first memories in their childhood rooms. Decorating for a kid’s room isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it when you see the wide-eyed wonder in their eyes when they enter into their new room and realise that it is all for them.
