Original Art for Lobby Space

Art is a fantastic way to make a first impression. It can say things that you couldn’t or wouldn’t say in words. This is especially important when you’re decorating a reception room. When guests come to visit your office, it’s worth doing all that you can to make a certain impression. There are all sorts of things that you might want to say, especially if they are potential clients or customers that you are trying to impress. Well-chosen art can convey your message to you, so take the time to choose wisely.

Inspire Your Visitors

Don’t just settle for artwork that is bland, choose artwork that will inspire emotion in your visitors. Every minute they spend in your reception room they will be looking around, taking in the scenery, and silently forming an opinion about you and your organisation. This is an opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up, take the time to figure out what you want them to think about you. If you want to inspire them with classic professionalism, then black and white imagery and images of machinery and city scenes will help to set an imposing tone. However, if you want to lighten the mood and inspire positivity and hopefulness, then lighter colours and natural scenes can put them in a very different state of mind. All sorts of moods are possible, start by figuring out what feeling you wish to create and then find the perfect piece of artwork to inspire that mood in your guests.

Think Big; Go Big

If you want to impress those who enter your reception room, then one easy way to do this is by purchasing larger pieces of art. There is something about a large piece of artwork that can inspire feelings of awe and respect. It’s why you have to see certain art pieces in person, the Sistine Chapel is impressive in a textbook, but it can bring you to your knees when you stand under it in person and witness its full glory. You might not be able to hire Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of your reception, but today large paintings and relief sculptures for your wall are more affordable than ever.

Look Into Sculpture

Receptions with open space could usually benefit from a sculpture. It doesn’t need to be anything big, but in general, a quality sculpture can help to set your reception apart from most. If you don’t have room for anything bulky, then consider a relief sculpture or a mixed media sculpture that could be hung on the wall. These don’t take much more room than a painting but create a unique look and feel.
