A complete seller profile helps not only to secure sales, but it also encourages collector loyalty.
After a collector views the art listing, the next button clicked the link to the vendor’s profile. Collectors love to know the maker of the artwork they wish to collect, just like they wish to know more about the artwork. It is therefore to your benefit to complete and maintain a well-crafted online presence.
Professionalism counts; a crafted seller profile provides you with the opportunity to engage with potential clients by making a good first impression.
Writing the Perfect Artist Biography
A well-constructed artist biography helps prospective collectors engage not only with your artwork but also with you. Your biography should tell a story: include information about your career but also tell prospective buyers what inspires you, what shapes your work and a little personal development detail.
Pro Tip: Avoid art jargon and focus on framing your content in a way that these collectors would want to learn more about you and your work. Reader interest decreases after 140 words to try and get the most significant facts in first.
A great bio should touch on some of these points:
- The mediums, central themes, techniques and influences of your art career
- The relevant and relational aspects of your work
- Motivations influencing your craft
- How others can relate to the feelings, your work captures.
A Nice Background Image
Background images reinforce your individuality and message to clients. Select it carefully. Avoid images which might violate Artailer’s image policy. Background images must be:
- File type JPG, GIF or PNG (no animated GIF)
- No larger than 4MB.
- High professional quality
- The dimensions need to be at least 700 x 1000 pixels
A Good Quality Seller Profile Photo
Your profile image reveals the person behind the art. Select an example which you believe accurately reflects your persona. As a minimum, your profile image should have the following specs:
- Square shape, 300 X 300 pixels
- Good resolution and quality
- JPG, GIF or PNG file (no animated GIFs)
- You should be the only subject in the photo.
(Note: Do not upload images containing nudity, copyrighted work, artwork or celebrities)
Your Artwork Listings
You’re on Artailer to list and sell your artworks online. Happily, there is no cut-off to the number of artworks you can have listed in your shop. There are artists with 200+ artworks and others with less than ten works of art in their Artailer art shop. The other piece of good news is that uploading a new listing takes less than a minute.
Your Complete Address
Your home address is not displayed on the site. Your address is used to calculate the shipping rate of your artwork. The system won’t be able to generate a shipping rate for your listing if the address field has been not completed.
